Liberty Evening is a semi-formal space for the collaboration and networking. It brings together young professionals and distinguished leaders from politics, business, culture and science, to discuss the idea of liberty and different forms of its manifestation, affecting the development of the state and society.

Good Governance Institute with the support of the Friedrich Naumann Foundation, organized the Webinar Series related to the challenges of the Covid-19 Pandemic.
The online platform gave the attendees an opportunity to witness and participate in a deep and comprehensive dialogue of the professionals to get a better understanding of practical and political perspectives of the issue.
Freedom and Security during the State of Emergency – 24th of April 2020
The guest speakers were the former Chief Justice, Konstantine Kublashvili, and Former State Inspector, Tamar Kaldani.
The first discussion covered the issues concerning “Freedom and Security during the State of Emergency”. Aim of the discussion was to go into the depth of human rights limitation during the pandemic and represent a comparative perspective between the Georgian and the best European practices in terms of the State of Emergency. The issues such as legal and political concepts of the State of Emergency, its role in securing the public health and safety, and the importance of protection of Personal Data during the State of emergency were discussed. Moreover, the future prospects of the society and the perspectives in terms of behavior influences were analyzed and reviewed by the guest speakers and the attendees.
Religion and the State in Georgia – 1st of May 2020
The guest speakers were the former State Minister of Reconciliation and Civic Equality, Paata Zakareishvili, and Theologian, Levan Abashidze.
The topics covered the role of religious confessions with an emphasis on Orthodox Christianity in Georgia. The webinar aimed at representing the ideas in historical, legal, and political frames, as well as highlighting the influences on social behavior trough religion. Interdependence of the state and religious institutions and the future of their coexistence was discussed.
World after Pandemic – 29th of May 2020
The guest speakers were Gigi Tevzadze - Philosopher, Professor at Ilia State University, and Ghia Nodia - Philosopher and Political Analyst, Professor at Ilia State University.
The topics of the discussion covered the following issues: various conspiracy theories, their influence on societies and possible reality; redistribution of political and economic influence across the world; integration and democracy vs. isolation and autocracy; rationality, science, protection of environment and social behavior. The attendants had the opportunity to ask the question to the guest speakers that are at the forefront of their respectful field and get an objective and in-depth comprehension of the particular topics.
Modern Security Challenges – 26th of June 2020
The guest speakers were David (Vasil) Sikharulidze - Former Minister of Defense, Chairman of Atlantic Council of Georgia; and Ivlian Haindrava - Former Deputy Secretary of the National Security Council, Former MP.
The topics of the discussion covered the following issues: The role of the international organizations in the context of Global and regional security. - Trends which have been unveiled by the global crisis caused by the current pandemic; How secure is the western world and its allies from the potential biological war? Does the actualization of the hybrid war threats underestimate the threats of the potential conventional wars? Significant shift of the attention by the USA, UK and EU towards their internal political affaires VS. Increasing attempts for the international influence by Russia, China, Iran and Turkey. What threats does it cause for the existing global order, including national security of Georgia and what should be the Georgian security policy.
