Media Training on Election Broadcasting

Good Governance Institute’s project in Kvemo Kartli Region aimed at informing voters promptly and rising awareness about election-related topics through local broadcaster TV4. Thirteen professionals have been selected for the project, including top-management and reporting representatives.

The theoretical part of the project covered various issues on reporting the Georgian and foreign elections and discussed it in comparative and best practice perspective. Detailed information about topics such as – election systems, election finances, election campaigns and media, media regulations, exit polls, and media monitoring have been introduced to the participants.

The training was followed by five television reports and a short educational and informative animation video concerning the elections. The objective was to have better performance in informing the Azerbaijani community living in Kvemo Kartli Region, hence, the TV reports and the animation video have been broadcasted in Azerbaijani language as well.

The project achieved its goals, as 13 professionals advanced their skills and around 390,000 voters in the region have been informed for the 2018 presidential election.
